Note
The "Install" for this package basically just appears to create the following:

c:\darecord.txt (this contains the folder path of where userdata is stored)
c:\WINDOWS\A5W.ini
c:\WINDOWS\A5W_DATA

The second two don't appear to be strictly necessary.

Additionally, I found that it was possible to get the files installed locally to the disk, and then run the software locally rather than the CD.

Quicktime 5 was a necessary prerequisite, and it seems like QT7 didn't work quite right. What I found worked without breaking QT7 was taking QT5's copy of c:\Windows\System32\QuickTime.qts and putting it side-by-side in the application folder. I think this is the library that contains the QT5 codecs used by the application.

After all was said and done, you just need to ensure write access on the folders:

c:\Program Files\EMCParadigm\DAMEDIA
c:\Program Files\EMCParadigm\DARECORD
