Copy the contents of the DVD\Qbooks to a network share.
\\networkshare\xpsoft\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro 2008
Create an MST with your serial number and product number.
I also used this MST to remove all of the desktop icons.
Install the application on a test machine.
Register one copy of the software on a test machine.
Turn off Automatic Updates
Copy out "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit" to "\\networkshare\xpsoft\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro 2008\Intuit"
Run the following command to install/register the application on client machines.
rem Install QuickBooks Pro 2008
"\\networkshare\xpsoft\intuit\QuickBooks Pro 2008\setup.exe" /s /v/passive TRANSFORMS="\\networkshare\xpsoft\intuit\quickbooks pro 2008\QuickBooks.mst" /forcerestart
rem Register the Software
xcopy /E /C /I /H /R /Y "\\networkshare\XPSoft\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro 2008\Intuit" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit"
In our office I deploy QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 8.0 (18.0.4001.606) by using the following command line after Altiris Deployment Solution copies the CD's QBooks folder to the client machine:
Both lines will install the software silently. After this is done we still need to manually launch the application with any account to configure the application for the proper edition. To install patches we will use RunAs on the QuickBooks software and authenticate with an admin account.
If anyone knows how to use the SETUP.exe in the root of the CD, that process may allow for an upgrade of the older software but I needed to uninstall QbuickBooks enterprise Solutions 7.0 before installing QB ES 8.0.
