Had troubles finding instructions such as administrators guide how to perform unattended installations of Sony_ Ericsson_ PC_ Suite_6 and started to get frusttrated so sent an email to Sony Ericsson Contact Center an got an surprising reply!
Unattended installation of PC Suite requires a special version of PC Suite which is not available on www.sonyericsson.com. You can download the software from the following FTP: ftp://secc:4seccUSE@83.241.148.5. Instructions are included in the file.
Even more surprised that autoupdates were disabled by default!
msiexec.exe /i “Sony Ericsson PC Suite.msi†/qn
Public Propertys:
UPDATE=1, If you want updates enabled
REMOVEDATA=1, If you want to remove user settings on uninstall, f.e. msiexec.exe /x "Sony Ericsson PC Suite.msi" /qn REMOVEDATA=1
If you want to remove some of the PC Suite studios, you have to use the STUDIOS public property:
msiexec.exe /i <package> /qn STUDIOS=abcdefgh
Where:
<abcdefgh> represents all studio that can be removed (one letter per studio)
a: Synchronization
b: Backup & Restore
c: Internet Connection
d: Files
e: Text messages
f: Picture messages
g: Contacts
h: Calendar
Each letter can take 0 or 1 value:
0: corresponding studio is not installed
1: corresponding studio is installed
Example:
msiexec.exe /i "Sony Ericsson PC Suite.msi" /q STUDIOS=11011011
In this example, the Internet Connection & Picture messages studios will not be installed.
