For Norton Antivirus versions 4 and 5 for Windows NT:
1) Right-click the Start button, then click Open All Users.
2) Double-click the Programs group icon.
3) Double-click the Norton AntiVirus group icon.
4) Right-click the Uninstall Norton AntiVirus icon, then choose Properties.
5) Click the Shortcut tab and copy the command line form the text field labeled Target.
6) Paste this command into a new batch file.
Change the portion of the file that reads, "IsUninst.exe -f" to read, "IsUninst.exe -a -m -f" and save the batch file.
Then contents of the batch file should look like the following and be all on one line:
'C:\Program Files\Navnt\NavUStub.exe' C:\WINNT\IsUninst.exe -a -m -f'C:\Program Files\Navnt\navnt.isu' -c'C:\Program Files\Navnt\NAVINSTNT.DLL'
Executing this batch file will silently unistall Norton AntiVirus for Windows NT.
The '-a' parameter causes the uninstall to be non-interactive. The '-m' parameter creates an uninstall log file named UNINST.MIF in the Windows folder for use in troubleshooting failed uninstalls.
