Download VMware Workstation and your license key. It'll offer to save it as "VMware-workstation-full-11.0.0-2305329.exe", but I rename this to "VMware-workstation-full.exe", so I don't have to change anything in my script between versions.
Install using the following command-line:
vmwareworkstation.exe /s /nsr /v ADDLOCAL=ALL DISABLE_AUTORUN=0 EULAS_AGREED=1 DESKTOP_SHORTCUT=0 QUICKLAUNCH_SHORTCUT=0 AUTOSOFTWAREUPDATE=0 DATACOLLECTION=0 SERIALNUMBER="xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx" REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qn /LiV C:\temp\Install_VMwareWorkstation_11.0.0.log
Here's a link to the VMware Workstation 11 doco, including all installation properties.:
I used to run the .exe to extract the MSI, but I found that this no longer installs the license (as of version 11), so now I just use the .exe with the switches and it works well.
