Overview

The K1000 appliance has it's own internal SMTP server that can be used for delivery OR you can specify that it use your corporate SMTP server. This is configured at: http://k1000/systemui/settings_network.php

The K1000 will send mail for the following items:

EmailConfigure the email address to use in...
Daily reports to the administrator The K1000 General Settings
Helpdesk ticket notifications The Helpdesk settings for each queue
Critical Errors and Alerts K1000 General settings
Email Alerts K1000 General Settings
Scheduled Reports (4.1) K1000 Settings

Troubleshooting

If you are not receiving emails from your K1000 appliance then check the following:

  1. That the K1000 can send mail. You can test this by going to http://k1000/systemui/troubleshooting.php and selecting the "email sending" test. Enter an email address to try. Look at the result carefully for success or errors.
  2. Check your mail filters and spam filters to see if the mail was rejected or trashed. This is common because the K1000 may be using it's own mailserver whcih is not approved by your system as a valid sender.
  3. Check your K1000 Network settings. If you are using your own SMTP server then the K1000 will be relaying mail through it. Many SMTP servers must give permissions to servers in order to do this. If needed then allow the K1000 's IP address to relay through your SMTP server
  4. Check your Firewall settings. SMTP occurs over port 25. Perhaps you have a router or firewall or gateway preventing the K1000 from communicating with your internal SMTP and / or external SMTP servers
  5. Call Support
