Windows7 comes with Windows Installer 5.0 that has a new installation property called MSIFASTINSTALL. Using the MSIFASTINSTALL property can help reduce time required to install a windows installer package.

Later Note: I've had issues running MSIFASTINSTALL on certain installs in 64bit. So if you're trying it and the package just won't work on 64bit Win 7, try removing that property and see if it helps. - samzeeco 12 years ago
