A Perplexing Question...
Maybe someone might know...
I am installing a product called PTC Places...
The app when it installs, removes all my drive mapping from the Search Feature...Not only that, it takes away the 'Browse' option as well...
But, when you uninstall it, all the drive mappings and the 'Browse' option comes back and are fully restored...
I am at my wit's end regarding this...Anyone know how to tackle it?
So far to track this issue I have used Regmon and setup capture to no avail...Anyone?

I am guessing here, but I think that is related to the workstation and/or computer browser services. It could also be File and Print Sharing. Does it install anything that attaches itself to the network card driver?

No, there is no network activity associated with this app...
But the question is now moot as the application in question has been removed from the install...
