sumitsingh1984,
Have you had a look at the other Winzip postings?
You can uninstall Winzip by running "winzip32.exe /uninstall"
Can you provide a bit more information on what packaging app you are using and the deployment method?
Off the top of my head if the Winzip tray icon is present, then Winzip can't uninstall itself - this is called something like quikpick.
Thanks,
Dunnpy

sumitsingh1984,
Have a look at:
Winzip Info
It may relate to Winzip 8.0, but I think you'll find that the information covers 7.0 too.
There is also mention of WZSHLEXT.DLL in this post.
Seek and ye shall find,
Dunnpy

Hi sumit,
the WZSHLEXT DLL is the Shell Extension File which gives you access to WinZip from the explorer.
Make sure that no explorer Windows are open.
you could use process explorer (sysinternals) to look which program has this DLL loaded.
There is also a undocumented silent uninstall switch for some WinZip versions: winzip32.exe /uninstallx
Regard, Nick

sumitsingh1984,
winzip32.exe /uninstallx does work.
Running this command uninstalls Winzip as far as Windows is concerned, all that remains are the files in the program directory.
So, after running this command another version of Winzip will install into the same directory without any issues.
I have had to download a copy of Winzip 7.0 to prove this works, as you appear to be having a few issues.
I have been able to recreate your error, after right clicking on a file to display with Winzip context menu.
Reboot the machine and then try to uninstall - as long as the context menu hasn't been invoked it should be fine to uninstall.
Thanks,
Dunnpy

Hi Dunnpy
Thanks for replying..
The problem over here is this winzip32.exe /uninstallx is not working.
At the same time my requirments are the winzip 7.0 should uninstall silently....
And we have to invoke the context menu.....since the client is using this winzip 7.0 and we have to uninstall that and install winzip 11.0 version...
So this is the problem,...
Looking for your reply..

sumitsingh1984,
Winzip 11 will go over the top of Winzip 7.0 without the need to uninstall 7.0.
Winzip 11 comes as a vendor MSI - see How do I customize my WinZip MSI?
Does this work for you and your situation?
Thanks,
Dunnpy
