Acrobat Standard to Acrobat Professional Upgrade

Hi,

I have upgraded acrobat standard 8.1.4 to acrobat professional 8.1.4 and the upgrade goes fine.
but on launching the shortcut acrobat distiller 8, the help-About shows that the vesrion installed is 8.1.0 . This is the same scenario even if i try to upgrade from acrobat standard 8.1.0 to acrobat professional 8.1.4.

Am i missing something or is this the way the application behaves ??????

Thanks,
Jahnav

Apps use different methods to populate the version details which are presented in Help/About and, as such, it is an unreliable indicator of 'proper' versioning. Check the file version, size and/or date/time stamps of a number of files to properly determine update status.

The upgrade seems to be proper, but don't know why the version is still showing 8.1.0.
Would like to know what is the best method, whether to upgrade the standard application or to uninstall it first and then proceed with installation of professional. I am facing still some more weird issues if i try to upgrade.

I should have said at the outset that, given that these are, to all intents and purposes, two different products, I'd recommend uninstalling Standard first.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
