Adding disk space to the k2000

I was hoping to just add space to the virtual disk that was originally configured for our k2000 to up it from 250gigs to something a bit higher. Is there a way to expand the space on the existing virtual disk or is the only way to do it described here by adding another virtual disk for:

Currently, the only way to do that is via off-board storage.
Their has been rumor of them expanding the disk size in future versions but I have not heard anything recently.
I went the off-board route and expanded to a 1TB Thin Provisioned and have had no issues.
