adding files through an mst
hi folks,
i want to add a file to an msi via a transform but do not want to create a new cab file, i want the file to be added to the existing cab file?
any takers on this one?

I am sorry that I don't have any solution for you.
It doesn't really matter for the installation, if it's one cab or 100 cabs, but I have also been thinking about this, and think your question is good enough to earn a +1 rating!

not sure exactly, but have a look in the media table. That should have pointers to the existing CAB files.
you might also consider a CA to copy the file from the SourceDir or some other known subfolder to the destination. Especially if it's a configuration and not a base application file.
