Adobe Design Premium CS 5.5 Deployment
Hi. I have a few outstanding issues with my AAMEE Adobe Design Premium CS5.5 Deployment:
1) How do I suppress/auto accept the Adobe Widget Browser EULA on first run? I've already got the switch -eulaAccepted in my exception install command but this has no effect?
Edit: Found it. The first run acceptance is kept in %APPDATA%\com.adobe.WidgetBrowser.E7BED6E5DDA59983786DD72EBFA46B1598278E07.1\Local Store\Preferences (file)
Edit2: For the amount of work involved in trying to prevent this, it's not worth it. It would be nice if Adobe got their act together with this stuff and put it in the registry. Annoying, but we've now declared this a known issue.
2) How do I add local PDF content to the Adobe Community Help program?
Edit: Copy to here? c:\program files (x86)\common files\adobe\help\en_us\
Edit2: Never mind. We're encourgaing users to use online help instead.
3) How do I permanently disable Adobe AIR updates? I've added DWORD "UpdateDisabled" to HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Policies\Adobe\AIR; value=1, but experience with Adobe products tells me there's probably another 6 places I need to opt-out of updates. Any advice?
Edit: Seems this will do it.
4) Adobe Extension Manager prompts for adminsitrative credentials on Windows 7 Enterprise. How do I stop this behaviour?
Edit: This is unavoidable due to the nature of the product & group policy.
5) The uninstaller does not uninstall Content Viewer; Help; Widget Browser; Acrobat X Pro; Distiller X; Livecycle ES2 and LiveCycle Designer. Why is this and how do I encourage it to do what it's supposed to do?
Edit: I've written an uninstall script to do what I need. It's due to them being installed separately as exceptions.
I'll leave this as is so maybe it can help someone else in the future.
/thread.
