App-V Application reading and interacting with Non App-V application on a local disk

Hi,

I have only been around the MS Sequencer a little bit, and have successfully packaged a few applications and work fine. I now have an issue with one application as it reads / interacts with another application which is not App-V.

The problem appears to be the the App-V package can't detect the other application which runs on C:

So my question is, if possible, how can I get my App-V application to work with the other?

I have tried a few things in the sequencer but now im out of ideas...

HALP!?

What have you tried?

Did you allow local interaction?

Comments:
  • I have tried using the local interaction and com objects with no luck,

We also tried running the second application during the sequencer in the specified time with no luck there either.

We can see when we run the application within the sequencer to optimize the app, that it can't detect the running session of the non-virtualised app.

Another issue was encountered where the App-V package needs to update a file on a fileshare, it was believed the issue was on the fileshare permissions, but after correct settings were applied, it was tracked back to the App-V package. - Bonn93 11 years ago
  • not possible to place both applications in 1 bubble? - jaybee96 11 years ago
  • No, the other application cannot be virtualised.

any ideas? I did hear someone in the office say that an exception can be created to a local file path somehow, is this possible at all? - Bonn93 11 years ago
