App-v configuration

Good Morning everybody,

I have a question regarding the configuration of a stand alone desktop client for App-V. Can I install the client without a "drive letter mapped" already? I have a large environment and the chance of getting a standard on a national drive letter is slim, so I will have to go back and change the client to point to this drive mapping later... Can this be done?

Hello,

The App-V client requires a drive letter, regardless of what distribution model you choose.

The drive-letter holds the virtual environment that runs from the clients cache files

Thanks for the reply, sorry if I'm asking the same question again, I just want to make sure....

So to just install the client, it has to have a drive letter mapping for it?

Yes, but in most (even large) enviroments the drive letter B: is almost free.

May check out the App-V Trial Guide first.
