Application data / config change

i am sequencing an application "Compaq insight manager 5.5a". the application has a .2 .db (dot db, database files). after sequencing when i launch the application on a SG client , the application modifies these .db files. and launches fine the first time, when i launch the second time, the application errors out saying that these 2 .db files are corrupted and need to be restored. Even restoring the files gives the same error.
But when i clear the application Client cache from C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\SoftGrid Client\CIM55A.V7-413457DF-73A5-41D6. the application launches again.

is there any way to configure this application without clearing this cache manually. i tried changing the Softricity files type under the files tab to User Data, User Configuration and also Application Configuration. but nothing helped.

Thanks in advance.

Hi bheers,
may it solve you problem or give you a hint.

Database files with userdata inside should be declared as User Data. A database file often come along with a indexfile.

So is bundled MS Acces with .MDB and .LDB and dBASE with .DBF and .NDX .MDX.
Whenyou set e.g. .DBF to User Data you have to mark the .NDX / .MDX as User Data, too.

If you change datas in the db, the index also changed. But if the index file(s) are set as Application Data, the changes could not be saved. The next time you start the sofware the index files(s) are reset to sequenced state and did not match to the changes in the DB and the result is a corrupt database.

Check out if there are index files and set them User Data, too.
Her you find a list of all file extensions for further information.

Happy sequencing !
