Application Virtualization Explorer
Hello all!
Many of you working with App-V are probably familiar with my SFT Explorer tool, which has served - and served well, I should hope! - the community already for four years. But like you probably have discovered, it has not been updated for couple of years now.
Enter Application Virtualization Explorer. This is a new superset of old SFT Explorer, but instead of being just the viewer for SFT file, the application has evolved into full-featured App-V package editor. This means, among other things, ability to open, edit and save package as whole (with updating MSIs etc.) instead of just being limited to SFT files. As a very unique feature, AVE also supports experimentally opening up App-V Client PKG files, which many have hoped to be able to crack open and look inside when something is not working quite right with the package in client. Only thing missing at this point is ability to create new packages or do change monitoring, but AVE is not really designed with that workflow in mind but rather as a superior post-sequencing editor.
I'll invite you to take a look at http://www.gridmetric.com/products/ave.html and hope you'll consider adding this new product into your arsenal!
br,
Kalle

Hi Kalle,
I've read the whole website and I must say, it sounds promising. I have one question however:
Is it possible to get some evaluation version? Like a x day trial, or maybe without a save option.. To get a good look at it and for the experience?
Because, personally I'm sold. Now I have to convince my boss though, which will be a lot harder... And it's not for a price that I could say: I'll buy a single license myself, just for fun.
Kind regards,
Rowan
