BlackBerry 3.6.1: run setup.exe within MSI?
Hello. I've created a SETUP.ISS for the BlackBerry desktop manager 3.6.1 setup. I would like to run the SETUP.EXE as an installed file from within the MSI. However, whenever I try to use the /s command line parameter, the MSI install fails with error 1722. The odd thing is, the custom action works if I don't specify any parameters.
I've tested the SETUP.ISS by itself and it works fine. I also installed ISSCRIPT.MSI ahead of time. Any ideas why SETUP.EXE won't take the paramters in the custom action?
Thanks
David

Hi dcheng,
I strongly suggest you read the following thread:
http://itninja.com/question/websphere-studio-application-developer-5.1-via-sms8&mpage=1&key=&anchor#2282
It contains excellent information from MSIMaker, specifically:
http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/8179/271477/Repackaging_the_BlackBerry_Desktop_Software_Installer.pdf?nodeid=348354&vernum=1
and:

You'll also see my ramblings in there of other ways of deploying it.
Hope that helps
Paul
