Can I make a Process within a Process (K1000)
I'd like to make a process ticket, but I'd like it to work in steps beyond the 1-2-3-4. For example, for step 1, I'd like a parent ticket that has 2 parts, and when those 2 parts are closed, it closes the parent ticket which was 1 child within the first process.
Essentially, I want to get all inception with a process ticket. Is this possible?

yeah..unfortunately not. the parent/child is linear. You can't make a parent the child of another parent today.

Thank you, maybe I'll throw it up into the KACE suggestions box, but I don't know if this has been thought of before. I'm sure smarter people than I have had to of. - Wildwolfay 11 years ago

If you can give a sample of what that would look like, maybe there could be a work around? - nshah 11 years ago

The only work around I can think of would be for one of the step 1 child tickets to basically say "FOR THIS STEP, OPEN PROCESS TICKET "Step 1.3 Process" AND CLOSE THIS CHILD TICKET WHEN THAT OTHER TICKET IS COMPLETE"
But you can see where that could lead to problems with a user group.
Essentially the reason I want this is because Step 1 can have 3 child tickets, when closed, will lead to Step 2. But I want one of those step 1 tickets to have steps within it, make sense? (So basically, step 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 but 1.3a 1.3b must be completed to close 1.3 leading into 2.1, 2.2, 2.3) - Wildwolfay 11 years ago
