Client Inventory

Hi

We have a few clients with old inventory data. This clients are online and the kace agent (9.1.204) is running.

What i've tried so far.

  • Via SMA Force Inventory
  • Agent Service restart
  • runbook 4 0
  • runbook 6 0
  • Restart Laptop

All this steps didn't work.

What else can i do?

Cheers

Delete the inventory.xml in C:\ProgramData\Quest\KACE and run runkbot 4 0 again.

  • i cannot delete the file. is in use by another process. i stoped all quest services, but i cannot delete the file. which process should i stop to delete the file? - DeepM 5 years ago
    • I tried it on one of my testmachines and i do not need to stop a service to delete the xml file. Try sc stop konea to stop the Kace Agent. You can try amptools stop in the Quest Kace Directory (where runkbot is located). After you deleted the file type amptools start or sc start konea depending on which command you executed before. - CarstenBuscher 5 years ago

  • try to take ownership
right click on the file - properties-security-advanced-click change to right of owner: change to your user. make sure you have full control under permissions via your name or a group you are a member of. Apply

then try to delete - SMal.tmcc 5 years ago
    • with take ownership didn't work. but I found out. on the laptops were several powershell processes running. after killing all process i was able to delete the file. - DeepM 5 years ago
      • cool, my next thought was have you boot to kbe, winpe or dvd and delete that way. - SMal.tmcc 5 years ago
