DBE in Windows 64 bit

I have developed a software package in Delphi 5 that is based on databases powered by the Borland Database enging. The software is deployed using Installshield Express,-Bolrland Limited edition. The installation works fine in the 32 bit environment but fails in the Vista and Window's 7 64 bit systems.

It appears that the BDEAdmin.exe file and associated *.dll files will not install in the C:\Program files\Common files\Borland Shared\BDE directory. I have been told that installing the BDE engine in a directory that is not located in the program files directory should work.

I have not been able to configure Installshield Express to install the files in a My documents directory. I have successfully installed and am running the BDE in a folder in My Documents for my software developement. According to the BDE MERGE MODULE installation text:

"This property is set by an installer Custom Action, "BDERunning". The
action searches for an existing BDE installation by examining the
registry and the hard drive. If an existing BDE is found, the property
points to its location. Otherwise the property has the default value of
"<PROGRAM FILES>\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE".

You can change the installation directory with a standard or custom
action. This action should come before the FileCost action in the
InstallExecute sequence, to avoid a disk space error."

Can someone suggest how to correctly configure Installshield to install the BDE elswhere than the default value or perhaps a completely different approach to the problem of running the BDE engine in the 64 bit environment.

I am not, by any means, computer literate, so we need to keep it reasonably simple.

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.
