Deleting Shortcuts in .MST
Hi I have this strange problem and i need help in this from you ppl. Well the prob is:
I have a vendor .MSI and I applied the tranformation and created a .MST, I removed all the shortcuts possible and to my surprise I still get the shortcut. Like for more elaboration Am working on Quickbooks 2007 and the shortcut I get is QuickBooks Timer in the start menu. I don't know why this timer is coming. Need help guys. I have this project 2 submit.

What does a verbose log show you?
Are you sure the transform was applied during the install (again, a verbose log will show you the command line, as well as a fleet of entries like 'Transforming [table_name] table')
I'd guess there's either a Custom Action running to create the s/c or it's being copied as a .LNK file.

The shortcut could be installed as a regular file too, search for ".lnk" in the File table.

thanks for the replies folks am using InstallShield and AdminStudio so am not writing any CA's. Let me check accordingly to your replies.
