Handling MST in this scenario.......

Hi All,

I have a msi package and a mst file with the Customised standards.
I hav deployed both my msi with the mst.
Now the scenario is to edit a single ini file value which is included in the mst file.
How can i get this done.Is it possible to create another mst and do a repair?

Since mst files wont be cached hope this option wont work.
How can i achieve this without doing upgrade?

Unfortunately, afaik, you're looking at an uninstall/reinstall scenario if you're only changing the MST. Exactly because there's no mst caching, you cannot effectively do a "repair" with a new MST.

Why dont you try creating a .msp file which will remove the old .ini file and replace with new .ini file.......

If your mst is cached then it is difficult to repair. One thing you can do, in sms create a new program, call vbscript to make those corrections in ini file. You will find no. of vbscripts on google to edit ini file, or just wait for some time, definitely someone will come with more accurate answer. :)
