Has anyone succeded in installing Roxio Easy Media Creator with GPO?

Has anyone succeded in installing Roxio Easy Media Creator with GPO?

I have been trying to repackage this one for a while and the information as of yet on this site doesn't give you any insight on how to create an MSI that will be able to deploy with group policy. I have tried frantically to sift through the MSI in hopes to find a property that will allow the MSI to be run without the .exe file but I have so far come up with nothing. I also tried doing a snapshot repackage to no avail either. The package that I create with WinInstall just errors out before it even finishes. I also tried wrapping the exe in an MSI. This has never worked for me but I thought that I would give it a try. This also did not work. I have the retail version and not the volume license copy but from what I hear that one has issues installing through GPO as well. Can anyone help?

I've had issues trying to run it via SMS with elevated rights (uses a service to install rather than an account). There is something in the msi that requires a "real" account to be used to install it. I had this issue with 7 and now apparently 8. I've got the corporate version. You'd think they'd have a method to install via either SMS or GPO with the corporate version but they really don't.

I've used runnas.exe to get it to work with SMS but that wouldn't work with GPO.

I think it has something to do with where it puts temporary files that causes it to fail.

In the MSI remove the launch condition INSTALLERDIR and the msi will no longer check for setup.exe.

I've had this same issue with EMC 8. I've created a transform to remove INSTALLERDIR and a couple of other things. Installs fine locally, but falls over flat through GPO in SMS
