I received the MSI 1638 (invalid drive P:\) during uninstallation of a product. The only way I've found to get rid of this, was to install the Windows Installer Clean Up utility (msicuu) and to reinstall the msi.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,so that the conversation will remain readable.
