Help with MSI (Microsoft Installer) error 1713: [2] cannot install one of its required products. Contact your technical support group. System Error: [3].

This is a rather generic error, but if encountered during the attempted removal (or reinstallation) of a program, make use of the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to fully remove the original installation.

Trying to manually run an MSI for an MS Office 2007 Suite (or individual app) generates the 1713 error. The reason is because the 2007 office suite does not allow installations via manually clicking the MSI file. Instead, the installs must be done using the Setup.exe from the MS Office 2007 media.
