The error is meant to give more details regarding the 1928 error. If a COM application failed in earlier versions of the Windows Installer all that would be returned was
Error 1928 with no details of why the error occurred. It was determined that in order to help the COM support teams better troubleshoot these errors additional information was needed. That is the purpose of the 2945 error. It gives more information to why the COM app failed.
Associated Errors:
-2146368501 means "The application is already installed". If you get this, it may mean that the COM catalog will not allow replacement of an existing application.
