Here's a new one: data object in AD already exists...?

Trying to deploy a vendor MSI. MSI installs drivers.

Extracted the MSI, created transform, installs fine manually. Tried to add it to policy & go the following error:

Type: Error
EventID: 101
Description: Software Installation encountered the following error: The software installation data object in the Active Directory already exists.

Ring any bells?

I expect the problems are related to a garbage MSI, but I'm hoping that perhaps someone knows an easy fix.

I ran a validation on the MSI & it wasn't pretty [:'(]

It sounds like an AD problem and not your msi.

I would force an AD replicaction first and if that doesn't help try regenerating your msi's product GUID.
