Allthough I've never tried I guess you could try to append "/L*v C:\verbose.log" to the UninstallString registry entry
You'd think that would work, wouldn't you? It doesn't... :) Enable the policy instead.

Allthough I've never tried I guess you could try to append "/L*v C:\verbose.log" to the UninstallString registry entry under:
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\<Uncompressed ProductCode>"
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\<SID>\Products\<Compressed ProductCode>\InstallProperties"

Another way would to just enable the Logging policy.

As I said; I've never tried that approach but thanks Ian for confirming, now I don't need to test myself.
Cheers!

axsysbabu,

John gave you a proper answer to help you to understand how to read and interpret a verbose log!
As someone stated in another of your treads; please educate yourself of the Windows Installer technology as it's quite complex for anyone starting to learn the ropes. John has been asked to start a blog due to his knowledge and experience so I would suggest you read his blog carefully.

We will try to help you as much as we can BUT you need to do something by yourself.

hi jmc,
give proper answering otherwise dont give

axsybabu,

i've got first hand experience of how much jmcfadyen knows about msi's (considering the fact that 97.5% of what i know about packaging comes from thim), i think that if you can't read a proper reply when one's given to you, then maybe you should look at yourself before firing off a reply like that
