How Do You Push The Windows 10 InPlace Upgrade?
Hello!
I am brand new to KACE and the K1000/K2000. Previously used WDS/MDT to setup an "automated" inplace upgrade from Windows 7 - Windows 10, so I have some experience working with these types of systems.
After following the guide: http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/upgrading-to-windows-10 I have no idea how to actually push the task! In MDT I would just browse to the share location that contained LiteTouch.vbs and run that on the local machine that needs upgrading. Is there a similar process in KACE, or is it more automated than that approach?
If you could also link some type of basics guide for the K2000 that would be amazing, haven't been able to find something like that on the site yet.
Thank you so much for any pointers you can give me!

Answer Summary:
There is nothing similar to the MDT approach of navigating the share and running litetouch.vbs to kick off the upgrade process while inside the windows OS. The K2000 approach requires the PC boot from PXE or USB. Basically the pre-installation task is empty which allows the PC to boot into the existing OS where the mid-level and post-installation tasks for upgrading can kick in

Got an answer from a KACE training rep during our first training session.

What does this all mean?
I might be wrong about this point, but if I recall correctly, only Dell workstations are capable of interacting with the K2000 on a BIOS level. This means you can't tell all your workstations to change the startup device to PXE unless your using Dells.
So since our environment doesn't consist of Dell workstations, our only option is to use the K1000 scripted approach or continue with the existing MDT setup.
Hope this helps someone
