how to approach per machine license application

I have an application which is a per machine license
The vendor gave 100 licenses.......not sure whether its a per machine/per user...need to get clarification...
But how to approach in such cases if its
1. per machine license.
2. per user license

Are the keys different are same? I guess the license is for 100 systems, I mean per machine license.

If it is per machine then install the msi normally with ALLUSERS=1. I am not sure for per user.

Is it me, or do these two statements not directly contradict one another? You state that the app is licensed per-machine (as the overwhelming majority of apps are) and then say you're not sure if it's per-machine or per-user! You could always go W A Y out on a limb and actually read the license terms & conditions. Software houses aren't usually known for ambiguity in these things!

>ALLUSERS
That will merely control whether it gets installed per-user or per-machine. If the license is for one type and you install the other, you contradict the license terms. Again. software houses aren't known for ambiguity in the area of the violation of license terms!
