How to create package for AutoUpdate for McAfee

we have McAfee VirusScan Enterprise version 8.7i in our office, but some how AutoUpdate did not run properly, I would like to know how to create MSI package and send out to each user.

When you open VirusScan Console--> AutoUpdate, it will show old date on the machine like

"The update successed Friday, April 27, 2011 11:28:34PM"

Thanks

Search for mcupdate.exe on the systems, then run the command - mcupdate.exe /update.
Check if it updates your client.

It depends how you are managing your updates. If you are going through the McAfee server, you need to make sure the server has the update and is accessible. If the clients are going directly to McAfee, make sure they can get there. If your clients are configured to update off of an FTP or share, make sure the share is up to date. If your using SCCM, SMS, LANDesk, etc, you need to make sure that the latest dat files have been downloaded and the distribution package is updated. You also need to make sure that the scheduler is working and configured properly in your installation, on the client and on the server. Check that the services are configured and running. Make sure that your firewall/proxy server is not blocking internet access.

I could go on forever... If you don't know how to do any of what I have suggested, I would suggest you review the fuctional manual or contact McAfee and ask for instruction.

How can I find out version 8.7.0i use this key
C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\McUpdate.exe /task {A14CD6FC-3BA8-4703-87BF-E3247CE382F5} /update /quiet.

When I create the job use altiris like this "McUPdate.exe /update /quiet, it did not run, but if I use dos command, then it will run.

The reason is because I did not use task {A14CD6FC-3BA8-4703-87BF-E3247CE382F5} ?

Need help.

All I want it on the McAfee right click VirusScan Console, click AutoUpdate, right click the property, click Schedule-->click Enable, click Schedule, Run Task: Daily, Start time: 05:00PM.

Thanks

Lillian
