I came across this thread recently. If folks are still keeping tab with this product which is now Opentext eDocs 5.3.xx.

I would be interested to find out how everyone is configuring this Windows Shell based application.

In particular I want to know if there is a way to change the order the view of objects within the Navigation pane when deployed on Windows 7 or Windows 2008R2 Servers.

I think it is in alphabetical order:

Computer- Drive letters

eDocs 5.3.1

I would like to have the network drive mapping displayed after the eDocs icon.

If I recall it's an extension shortcut so check the Registry table.

Most likely, it's creating the shortcuts via a Custom Action. If you want to remove just one, I'm afraid you're goiung to have to resort to a script to remove the .LNK from the Desktop once the install completes.

Hi all,

This desktop shortcut is appearing from the following registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{4577...}

If i removed this registry, desktop icon is getting removed but my shorcut is also not working[&:].It is throwing the following error
The path ':: {4577EA30-A1DF-11D0-BA3E-00A024746296}' does not exist or is not a directory

How can i make my shortcut work[:(]???????

this was raised when i rolled out dm5 late last year. in the end the best thing to do was to leave it alone ;)

Hey i resolved my issue[:)].I hided the desktop icon by listing the classid in the below location.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel
and gave dword value as 1
