IBM DB2 8.1 Admin Client - Automated Install Using MSI
Has anyone had much luck calling on the DB2 Administration Client.MSI that comes with IBM DB2 Admin client rather than calling on setup.exe? I'm having issues using IBMs "prefered" way on automating the install with a responce file in that the only way it will work is to make the installation completely silent, and then there is no indication when it's done unless you're watching the processes.
I attempted to use the MSI along with an MST, but this doesn't seem to be creating the program groups or anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I don't envy the task ahead of you. I wrote a wrapper that executes setup.exe with the response file and displays a dialog indicating that setup is in progress.
One of the reasons/advantages of the wrapper in my environment was to facilitate the uninstall/clean up of DB2 5.2 and 7.2 clients that already existed, as 8.1 does not work when it finds legacy files in the path.
