Increased Job failures with Release 14.1.95 & Agent 14.1.13

Has anyone else seen more job / schedule failures with  Release 14.1.95 / Agent 14.1.13? Error / Error Agent Disconnects. In some cases, KACE just completely misses patching, detecting missing patches one day then completing a deploy job successfully the next day without deploying anything. I will see numerious failures in a schedule, manually re-run the job and KACE patches everything OK. Its almost like I have to schedule jobs to run multiple days in a row to get patching done. When you setup a schedule, you expect it to run and complete, not be sent on a wild goose chase to track down errors and having to re-run jobs that work the 2nd or 3rd time you run a schedule.

I am going to complete delete and recreate schedules at one site to see if this helps but KACE generally has not been able to answer for the Error Agent Disconnects or why its taking multiple runs to complete a job.

you likely want to update to 14.1.98 (see here: https://support.quest.com/kb/4377067/cumulative-updates-for-kace-sma-14-1)

because there are some fixes for similar issues:

  • K1-36124 - Fixed patch schedule log stuck in process-log phase for up to 15 minutes
  • K1-36107 - Fixed patch download log write failure when deleting unused agent bundle files
  • K1-36087 - Fixed issue with task chain patching tasks never transitioning when complete
