Occasionally I have come across software that uses a fairly "dumb" setup.exe wrapper whose sole purpose is to unpack constituent files to a temporary folder including a "real" setup.exe and then the wrapper runs this latter executable to start the installation. In such cases, it is the "real" install executable that will support the silent switches &c.
Have you tried running the setup.exe you were supplied and stopping at the first dialog box and inspecting the contents of %TEMP% to see if this is the case ?

Spartacus

Spartacus,
Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestions by running the setup and stopping at the first dailog box but no
setup in the temp location. Interesting enough after continuing thru the dailog boxes( before finish) a setup.exe did appear in folder called LRE8.tmp but I was not able to copy all the contents because some files were being used. After selecting the finish button, that folder went away.
