Installing HP SP EXE's via SCCM 2012 R2

So where to start, well simply put I am trying to install a HP SP exe (SP76234.exe) for LTE Snapdragon drivers and software to automatically upgrade my users from 3G to 4G

I found that I can add the requirements for this to the task sequence for this model (Elitebook 1040G3), so I have the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 and HP Connection Manager 5.0.15.1 installed to the machines but the 4G module drivers do not install correctly despite them being added as part of the driver pack.

It seems to be there is extra parts required for the 4G module to work and requires the full install of the SP exe. I have deployed MSI's and EXE's before with SCCM but this one pack I cannot get to install in the task sequence or as a separate package.

I am currently trying to install it as "SP76234.EXE" on the install command as I have tried different switches and is seems to just fail to install. I can install manually or even by just opening a command line as admin, putting the EXe in C:\Work and running the EXE.

Any ideas how I can get the full package to install via SCCM task sequence which would be preferred.

Oh, you need the command line switch.

Humm might be a bit tricky, its a installshield type installer - so you can pass it a response file, the only issue is the GUI, it might try and pop up on screen which might cause issues with the SYSTEM account. You could extract the files itself and install that with a /s or -s, not sure if that will work though as I dont have the hardware.

good luck!

Test test test.

Download psexec and run cmd as SYSTEM, I suspect the SP76234.exe isn't installing correctly because of the SYSTEM account. Some exe's just don't work well with it (SYSTEM account) due to bad installer design/coding.
