InstallShield ResultCode -5

I recorded an .iss file by performing a straight-forward install of CGGVeritas' Hampson-Russell software (http://www.cggveritas.com/hampson-russell.aspx?cid=646). When I try to install the app to the same VM machine using the answer file (after reverting back to the pre-install snapshot), I get a "File does not exist." error code. How can I determine what file the install thinks is missing? Or is this just bad app packaging on the vendors' part?

and here's the install string I'm using
"\\servername\applications\hampson russell\Version CE8_R2\setup.exe" /s /f1"\\servername\applications\hampson russell\Version CE8_R2\hampson.iss"

I presume you took a copy of the response file and put it somewhere other than the local drive of the VM before you reverted?

Yup, I placed the .iss file in the same directory as the installation files...which are on a server.

Shame on me. I found the problem. In the batch file I had been using to test, I fat-fingered the install statement and screwed up the /f1 parameter.

No shame. We've all been there... :)

Often, merely typing out the problem on a forum, or showing a colleague makes the solution so obvious, you kick yourself.
