IP address invalid in link asset field?
I have added several link fileds to one of my kbox assets. When I enter "http://172.16.1.174/index.htm" as the link and try to save the KBOX says it is an invalid url. Does the KBOX only accept FQDNs as urls?

It is being adressed by KACE engineers and should have a fix soon.
Log into the K1000 using either http://172.16.1.174/userui or http://172.16.1.174/adminui
Navigate to the page you want to link to, take the link from the browser address bar. Adding "ui" to the end shows the actual link to the page.

It's possible I don't understand what you are asking though. - jknox 11 years ago
Let me try to clarify:
I have a "Printer" asset type. I have added a field to the asset type called "Service URL" with a type of link.
When I try to add the managemnt web interface address of the printer to this field "ttp://172.16.1.174", KBOX complains that it is an invalid url. The field work if I type in a typical url like "http://www.google.com" It seems that it doesn't accept an ip address as a hostname in the URL.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Has this item been addressed? I'm on 5.4.76847. The interface will allow publicly routable IPs as a valid URL, but it will complain if I try to enter a private ip address. So http://111.222.33.44 will go in just fine, but http://10.111.222.33 gets a complaint. - grayematter 11 years ago
