ISScript MSM for v11.
Hi again people,
I need the Merge module for v11.0 of the ISScript engine to get round this Installshield/wrapper situation. I have tried to download v7.5 of Flexnet studio but i need a password to run the installation. Has any1 got any idea where i can find v11 (or a version that will work in its place)?
Thanks
Jon

Ok I would then assume you are well in the clear, jk01 :-)
For those of us that haven't bought any InstallShield products it is also possible to ask the folks at Microsoft for help. Download unzip. Only for evaluation purposes, of course.

Hi Jon,
ISScript 11 MM was in FlexNet Studio 7.0 download. But unfortunately, it can't be downloaded anymore. Don't know, where to get it legally, as their website only has Versions up to 10.
Have myself drilled out Version 11 and 11.5 MSM's from their trial versions of FlexNet.
Maybe someone else knows another location to get them.
Regards, Nick

The msms are indeed not backwards compatible, you need the correct msm for it to work.
Also, you need to make sure you have the correct license to use the msm legally. Getting it from i.e. the AdminStudio eval is in violation of its license according to a phone call I got from Macrovision UK.
Most of us reading this are people responsible for large-scale deployments. Please remember to consider all vendors when/if you are in a position to choose what installer should be used on what project. Do answer when asked :-) and speak up when not.

I work for the MOD. We have multiple corporate/Site licenses for Wise and Installshield on my site to v7 and v12 respectively. Being the lumbering beomoth that we are, getting the MSM from the eval is a lot quicker that putting in a change request for the version of Installshield that i need and it sitting on someones desk for 3 weeks. (timescales and all that). Unfortunatley, i dont have access to a copy of v11 to get the MM i need.

Hi jib,
good job to dig out this download!
Wouldn't be to worried about license violation here.
This MSM are required to run an installation as it should be (finally)!
This attitude of MacroVision is more than arrogant in my eyes.
You could write an email to the vendor of a package, which requires the ISScript engine, to send you the MSM. They in fact could have included it in the beginning without additional license fees.
