Step1:
Download MonitorInfoView from the below url;
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/monitor_info_view.html
Step2:
Create Managed Install
a) Upload the zip file which is downloaded in the step1 by creating the Custom Software Inventory with supported Operating Systems. Inventory>>Software>>Chose Action>>Add New Item
b) Create Managed Install for MonitorInfoView. Distribution>>Managed Installations>>Chose Action>> Add New Item
i) Select MonitorInfoView from the drop down
ii) Choose Configure Manually
iii) Enter the command: MonitorInfoView.exe /HideInactiveMonitors 1 /stext C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\monitor.txt
iv) Limit the deployment by selecting the required machines or Labels and save to run the MI Job.
Step3:
Go back to the Software Inventory and create a Custom Inventory Rule like below;
FileExists(C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\monitor.txt) AND ShellCommandTextReturn(cmd /c type C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\monitor.txt)
Step4:
Check the Custom Inventory Fields under the Software Section
1) MonitorInfo: | ================================================== Monitor Name : DELL E1910H Active : Yes Serial Number : U417N13S0AVL Manufacture Week : 13 / 2011 ManufacturerID : 44048 (0xAC10) ProductID : 53283 (0xD023) Maximum Resolution: 1366 X 768 Image Size : Maximum Image Size: 41 X 23 cm (18.5 Inch) Horizontal Frequency: 30 - 83 KHz Vertical Frequency: 56 - 75 Hz Digital : No Standby Mode : Yes Suspend Mode : Yes Low-Power Mode : Yes Default GTF : No Display Gamma : 2.20 Serial Number (Numeric): 809588300 (0x3041564C) EDID Version : 1.3 Registry Key : DELD023\4&18e9b938&0&UID16843008 Computer Name : Last Update Time : 1/21/2014 6:22:03 AM ================================================== [string] | |

This works perfectly, however, I am not able to pull a report of the custom inventory rule that it creates. It does not show up as an option in the Report Wizard. - Outlander1 9 years ago

This is 99% of what I want, but missing one very important detail: which interface is the monitor using? HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA? Is there any method to retrieve that information. I know of two other products older than KACE that can do this by default and much more. Not sure why KACE overlooked this. "Generic PnP Monitor" is totally useless information.
