KACE 1000 Software Deployment

Hi Team,

If I have a managed installation setup with a label (assigned to a bunch of PCs) and the software is pushed it, does that mean if I remove one of the PCs from this label it will automatically uninstall this software from that PC? Or would I have to make an uninstallation managed installation to remove the software?

Cheers

Removing a computer from a label will not cause the software to be automatically uninstalled from the computer.

What you can do is specify an uninstaller script to run against any computer with the software title installed so long as it isn't part of the label you were using. This way if you remove the computer within 2 hours (or whatever your checkin time is) the uninstall script will run and remove the software.

The answer to your question is no, software won't install automatically by dropping a software label. You could set up an unattended automatic uninstall via another label. If it is a Smart label, you won't even be able to remove the label unless you make the PC fall out of scope of the label filter criteria.
