Kace Reporting - generate an "installed applications list" for group of machines

So, my SQL-Fu is weak when it comes to this kind of thing. I can "sorta" get what I want out of the wizard, but it's way to cumbersome and requires a significant amount of post-work in excel to be functional.

What I'd like to do is generate a list of installed software from all the PCs at a particular division we have. All the PC's there utilize the same naming convention (SiteID_SerialNumber) so they are easy to differentiate from the other 1200 or so devices we have in Kace. Something like "the following 70 applications are currently installed on Division X computers" without necessarily having to drill down to individual devices.

Currently, what I get is a report that shows all the installed apps that each PC has, under each PC's line on the report. This leads to hundreds of duplicate entries (example, every PC has Adobe reader, so that's 80 entries for reader, one for each PC. you get the idea)

Any way to do this through the software catalog or software inventory lists? Like an advanced search for software on Device name - Begins with - SiteID_?

First of all create a label for all the machines in that site.

Next

Create new report wizard

- choose device

- From device identity information sublist ...... choose "label names".

- From software sublist......choose "software titles"

NEXT.....

"Column order" your choice

NEXT.......

"Sort breaks"

Check label name, so it sorts by only the label.

 NEXT....

Choose "specify rules to filter records"

NEXT.....

Put in your label name and save.

Run the report
