KBOX patching speed

We're just getting started with K1000 patch management, and I'd like to hear from anyone who has been using it for a while, on this issue: speed. Initial tests suggest that a patch label representing 79 patches takes 7-8 minutes just for detection. The time is pretty consistent across different Windows physical computers, all essentially idle. That's only about 10 patch detections/minute; is that typical?

Does anyone know enough about how patch detection and deployment works internally, to explain where the delays might be?

If any of you have any good numbers from your patching experience, I'd love to see them here. Sande

We experience similar performance in our patch detection process. In fact, running a patch detection on anything less than a dual-core machine basically hoses it until the process is finished.
