Keeping track of old owners of laptops

Hi All,

just wondering if there is a way to store all owners of a laptop against the asset as opposed to just the most recent one.

i.e. if we were to re-issue an asset multiple times (without rebuilding the asset), is there a way to view each of the times that asset was used? Was thinking i could show the c:\windows\user list some how but not sure if this would be searchable?

Thanks

You can go through the audit trail for the asset and highlight when ownership changed, but again that is probably not what you want. The only thing I could think of would be to create a field in the asset that is for historic or previous owners and then create a ticket rule so that when the ownership of the asset is changed the old value i.e. last owner is added to the historic field. If that field is displayed as a Notes field then you would see an increasing list of previous owners.

Sounds simple right, but cutting to the chase, this would be at least 3 days of consultancy time to configure this functionality, so either contact Quest consultancy to discuss or reach out to me if you are interested in taking this further #WeAreQuest
