Launch msi from msi
Hi all,
I want to run an MSI from within one. But I keep getting those annoying 1721 errors. Can anyone help me resolving this issue ?
What is the best way to launch an msi from a msi ?
Regards,
Peter

Nested Installations is the answer , should always be used for such functionalities . Its quite simple and straight forward .
I use installshield , following is one of the installshield KB article which you can refer :
http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?articleid=q105706
Although this is specific to installshield but due to its simplicity it can be used to implement for any tool .
Windows Installer documentation available on msdn for nestedinstallation custom actions is also quite comprehensive .
Hope this helps .
Cheers ,
