Live Meeting 2007

I'm in the MSI file for this with ORCA, and trying to get rid of the program files folder. I deleted the two entries from the shorcut menu, but this only gets rid of the contents of the Start Menu>Programs>Live Meeting 2007 folder. I cannot seem to find where to delete that folder as well.

- You should be creating a transform rather than directly editing the MSI. Load the back-up of the original which you took (you did back it up, right?), make your changes and then save the changed file as a transform

- You can specify a different target from the command line, by specifying the INSTALLDIR property with a path, e.g.
MSIExec /i LiveMeeting.MSI TRANSFORMS="LiveMeeting.MST" INSTALLDIR="C:\LiveMeet" [other command-line switches]

sound more like you need to remove the Createfolder or ProgramFilesFolder directory entries and related tables from mst so empty folder doesnt appear in start menu.

The CreateFolder entries did it, thanks! I know this is a real noob question, but what is the problem with editing the MSI directly?
dropping those rows with it setup as a transform crashes Orca with this MSI for some reason.. I think that is why I edited the MSI directly.

what is the problem with editing the MSI directly? Principally, it comes down to complexity and/or vendor incompetence, with a mix of support issues thrown in.
