Does anyone know of a comprehensive guide to installed Adobe Pro with the Kace SMA appliance?

Thank you in advance.

I did this using a managed installation.

-First build your package in the Adobe Admin console and download the resultant .zip file.
-Next find the software record for the version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC you want to push out and upload the .zip file as its associated file. (If you don't have the software record in KACE, manually install it on one of your agented computers and then force an inventory on it.)
-Create a new Managed Installation.
-Give it a name and then click on the "Software" radio button (as opposed to the Cataloged Software option).
-Select the software from the drop down list.
-Check the "Override default installation" radio button and use the following parameters:

NameOfAdobeExtractedFolder\Build\setup.exe

The name of the folder will vary depending upon what you named the package when you created it in the Adobe console. (Note: KACE will automatically unzip the folder for you.)

If you want a silent install, append the command above with "--silent --INSTALLLANGUAGE=en_US" (if you want US English).

Make sure to enable the Managed Install and also specify which OSes on which you want to allow the MI to install the software.

Hope this helps.

What version of the SMA?

What version of Adobe Pro/Standard?

You should be able to use either a Managed Install or the scripting module of the SMA to deploy software unless the particular software has an issue in this environment.

If you decide to deploy software using a Managed Install, you first start by manually installing the software on a device with the Agent installed. Please wait for the device to check-in and upload its inventory to the appliance,  as it will automatically create a software item that can be used to create a managed install. The manual install should be done using the software vendor documentation on how to install from the command line. These same command-line options may be used as the install settings in the Managed Install.

  • I'm seeking the same info for Adobe Acrobat DC (not the Reader). I discovered that you can build deployment packages from the Adobe admin console, but those are zip files which include a number of separate files rather than a consolidated msi or exe like you can download for the Reader. How do you get a single file for upload so that you can deploy it via Kace silently? I found a file but it installed the Adobe Creative Cloud and I just want the regular licensed Acrobat DC. - AKaceUser 3 years ago
