McAfee 8.7i
Hi,
I have this application call McAfee 8.7i to pakcage. How to create a transform or is there any tools out there that does that like microsoft resource kit.
Please help me how to proceed.

McAfee AntiVirus 8.7i Enterprise uses a custom setup file which calls an MSI. You shouldn't use the repackager for it, just use the silent installation parameters. Search McAfee's knowledgebase for more information or contact their support department.

Are you using an ePolicy Orchestrator server to manage the clients? If so, you don't need to customize the installation - you can control almost everything with centralized policies. If you absolutely must customize the installation, you should consult with McAfee support or dig through their knowledgebase to find out how to customize the installation.

I am not doing the ePO, other team member are. I have to make few changes while installation. check few boxes..

Is there not a McAfee Install Designer for Mcafee 8.7i client? If so I would use that to customize your install.

I did install Designer but didn't work for me. Anyhow I created the transform and when I install it it throws an error Saying
" Error 1920. Service McAfeeFramework [McAfeeFramework] failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"
I googled it and found that it have to apply patch "Apply Patch 1 (or later) for VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i"
I don't know what to do from there now.
I am admin on the box.

When I Installing the MSI it has a drop down menu saying 1yr, 2y and Perpetual License, then I have to select perpetual. I got the silent install command that worked fine in installing but I don't know whether its installing 1yr, 2 yr or Perpetual license. I try to dig into msi, I made transform edit with ORCA to see the change , didn't see any change.
Does anyone know about about it.
