How to manage a .msi & .appv pakcages in SCCM 2012 for the same application? Based on the requierment i want to deploy an .msi or .appv?

For the same application i have a .msi & .appv in SCCM 2012 but based on the requirement i may need to install a .msi or .appv. how to manage this? Hope this clarifies - n.gopinaathan 11 years ago

You need to create 2 deployment types in the application and create a requirement in each of them.

Thanks Piyushnasa. Will the priority under Deployment types work ie., if Appv client is not present then MSI should get installed even thought MSI is given priority 2? - n.gopinaathan 11 years ago

You can put all this in requirement. Like you can check for the existence of App-V client through a script and if it is there use App-v, else reverse of it you can put as a requirement for MSI.
You can also check for a registry key in the requirement. You can create your own global custom requirements and then use them in any application - piyushnasa 11 years ago-
